Carlos,
The guy you quote and disagree with is the driver and I think he should know what gear he was in. He is modulating the throttle through the first few gears and that may be why you think you hear him shift into 6th.

Fanken Evo,

here is a link that has some detailed info about the IHI RX6 turbo:

http://www.dragsport.com/issue/2006/0406_tech.shtml
by no means is it in the class of the GT35R, but for street & strip application it is an awesome choice, expensive YES, engineered very well for it's applications, YES. also choice of cams will have a direct impact on peak rpm boost threshold.

Carlos,

that was fifth, not sixth, your counting the BLOV whoosh off the line.....this turbo wont make the kind of power needed to be shifting in sixth on stock gearing/stock tire diameter in full street trim.

Regards

Mohammad Jaloudi

The water-cooled wastegate helps to remove heat from the manifold and will provided better boost control since the spring won't heat up as much. How much it helps is up to debate.

The only turbo available w/ the EVO kit is the TCW77L.

LOL!! thanks for the clarification.. so I was actually arguing with the guy that actually run the 11.4 uh? LOL , shame on me.
Definately thanks for bringing it to my attention, I did not even notice that the actual driver was within the forum and typing on his own topic.

I can only view your comments as another atribute and compliments to the already extensive worldrecord of categories that the Evo already competes, just for your info:

Not only the Evo fullfil the role of a daily driver but also is a family car
The Evo can drag better than most of the cars
It outbrakes and outhandles cars designed to be sports cars
It does the job in adverse conditions(mod, snow, water, dirt)

So at the end I hope you understand the Evo is a all around sport car at all the times that plays multiple roles unlike other cars like a Supra which if it is rainy outside you are risking the integrity of the car and your safety..

Just a few notes:

Willow springs racetrack:

a stock EvO 8 MR pulled a full 2 sec on a z06 (405hp) on the track
A Evo 8 MR outbrakes a Ferrari Enzo from 60-0mph, yes your hear it right but let me reiterate that again, a Evo 8 MR outbrakes a $1,000,000 Ferrari Enzo(faster production car of all the times) fitted with its 15" ceramic brakes rotors from 60-0MPH.
A Stock Evo 8 MR outhandled a 405hp Vette on the 700 slalom by speed and time and remember, the Vette is 1 feet lower and a few inches wider...

Enough said

Carlos

I am VERY interested in this ApexI kit ESPECIALLY for under $4000. The quality and the intake and all that good stuff, just an amazing deal.
