might sell my e46 m3 and join the darkside

I'm debating on whether or not to sell my m3 for an evo vIII..if i do choose this path, a visit to vishnu for a stage III package will also happen. I know it will be much faster than my bmw but what else? the only thing holding me back so far is the luxury. anyone ever take the m3->evo step?

Well it really depends what you want more, power & handling or luxury. The evo is far from being luxurious even with the SSL package. If you can't live without a nice quality interior, navigation, heated seats, cruise control, and all that jazz then the evo is really not for you.

Also when you get a modified car like the evo you're going to get more cop attention, louder car, smog issues, and reliability. But as far as going with the Vishnu Stage III package driveability is excellent and very smooth. I have the Stage II, and the only thing I dislike about it is the lower gas mileage hahaha. With the Stage 1+ I could go around town with a 'spirited-driving' style and get around 260 miles by the time the light came on. [I got better gas mileage with the Stage 1+ than stock]

If it's power with luxury you desire then maybe an AMG or other M car is more suited for you [M5/E55/ etc..]

+Also, modifying the evo is going to be more cheaper than if you were to modify your M3

The e46 is a really sweet car! However trading it for an Evo.... well maybe, I think the Evo will out handle the M3 and everything else as well that the 2 cars could possibly do, throw some after market acc on it and you have an M3 killer.
German enginering any more just ****'s me off
Sorry I just had to vent

Do it, hell with it. I had a 2001 M3 and now I have an EVO and I feel great. The Evo IX will surely change your mind.

I bought this car instead of an E46 when I got rid of my E36.

The Evo is incredibly cheap to mod compared to the M3.

I love me some Evo... LOL..

SSL stands for Sun, Sound & Leather. If you decide to get a GSR, this is an optional package from the factory.

SUN, sound and leather.

Don't get SSL, unless you want to lug around an extra 75 lbs from the stereo and sunroof. The sunroof is at the top of the car so it will hurt handling.

I feel that the EVO is more a drivers car than the E46 M3. It is raw and less refined in a good way. You will miss the low end from the inline 6 ( but the power surge the 4g63 gives you at 3200 rpm more than makes up for it). The EVO does get more attention which I feel is a big minus. Test drive an VIII or IX you will realize they are two very different cars that are good at what they do. Cant go wrong with either.
