Why would'nt it be tight if I just had my intercooler and my piping changed today at AMS?

Dude same thing happened to me last week after installing greddy intercooler piping...i heard a loud pop, and got a SES light just like you...I popped off an intercooler hose...I'm certain that is your problem...When it happened i thought my car bloew the engine, but it was just a intercooler hose...bad thing it was the lower intercooler pipe and had to remove all the plastics to get to it to fix...other than removing the plastics it's an easy fix..

They accideintly forgot to tighten the clamp. Even the best make mistakes. Cheer up though, I can almost guarantee you that is what it is.

Give us a call at the shop tomorrow. We open @ 12pm. It just sounds like a intercooler pipe could have blown off which can happen sometimes.

I apoilogize for the inconveince this has caused you and we will do our best to make it right for you.

I have a lot of respect for AMS regardless. This is the first and only shop that actually inspected my car for any prior flaws before bringing it in to the shop. Sounds very minor, but after getting one of my previous Honda's out of a local shop, I found overspray ALL OVER MY CAR!!! Even the interior.

I have OCD when it comes to cleaning my cars, I was SURE there was overspray on it. Mistakes happen, and I will not hold that against anyone. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope it's just the LIC.

Thanks guys.

Most up to date evo-owners drive around with extra clamps and necassary tools in the car. If you boost alot in 5th gear expect to blow alot more pipes off.

Awesome to see a vendor that wants to make sure they take care of the customer immediately! I was actaully there today buying a licp. It was my first time at ams and they were all really nice guys! Very different from going to grd in naperville where everyone that I have talked to that works there is an a..hole!

This is why I can't decide whether or not I want to start bolting things on to my evo.

It was what most of you said it was, the lower intercooler pipe.

Sorry about the post, this was not a regular sound I was use to hearing.

Glad you got it done. Now you can tell the wife to calm down, it was a simple mistake.

remove to offending pipe and spray a little hairspray on the inside of the pipe where the I/C nipple slides in. I havent' had any problems with hoses blowing off in the last 24k miles since I sprayed my hoses.
