Thumbs down Car went BOOM today........

First off let me start by saying I don't know to much about FI after have just coming from the Honda world all my life, and with that, my story begins......

I took my car to AMS today and got the following done:
AMS upper and lower IC piping
AMS front mount intercooler
fuel pump
AMS small battery kit
AMS ECU flash

After I left there the car was running great. It put down around 314hp and I was pleased. I was driving on 53 south heading over to Woodfield to meet a budy of mine when the unthinkable happened. I was driving at normal speeds and merging into the other lane when I heard a loud explosion. It literally sounded like a shot gun blast. At first I thought it was a barbaric misfire, but when I released the gas and gave it gas again, it was quite apparent that this was not the case.

The SES popped up and I immediately pulled over and popped the hood. I really could'nt see anything out of the ordinary, so I disconnected the MAF and the car seemed to run a bit better than before. I peg legged the car home and kept the speeds below 30mph.

It was quite an interesting ride home to say the least. I'm a bit upset as I have no idea why the car did this, let alone that it was running fine before I had gotten all this done today.Any ideas guys? TIA

I dont know if this would throw the SES light, but make sure you didnt blow an intercooler hose off. I just installed BR Stage 2 a couple weeks ago and was negligent with how I installed the lower part of the upper IC pipe and it blew off on the interstate. It made one pop and made the car stumble a bit. I immediately pulled over, suspecting what it was, fixed it and went on.

Could be a blown intercooler hose. Right now, I am experiencing what I think is boost cut when I go WOT. Although yesterday, it actually backfired (big puff of black smoke). Vishnu thinks it may be an ignition problem (coils?). I am going to have TT check it out next week. Car drives normal when in vacuum.

Kinda hard to do when they're closed. it's a bit cold out tonight to be crawling underneath the car and to be quite frank, i'm really not in the mood after dropping close to $4k today into this thing which has done nothing but be a headache in the short month i've owned it. First it was the infamous p0300 code which won't even let me drive down the highway at normal speeds without the SES light getting triggered, and now this.

Buy a C-Reader from Vishnu. It should stop the annoying p0300 code. Just be aware that modding cars can cause weird things to happen. Just have patience. It's much better than getting angry.

Intercooler pipe popped off. Take 5 minutes and put it back on, tighten it up, and the car will run perfectly again.

EDIT: Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago, sounded like a shotgun blast.

To be honest, after dropping that much money into my car today, i'll let them figure it out. Not that i'm lazy, but damn..........I JUST GOT THE CAR BACK. I had it for maybe one hour tops.

first check the ic pipes, if theyre alright then i would tow it back. if you want to get some sleep tonight just go check it now with a flashlight and get it over with. if its the icp then have a good nights sleep and put it back on in the mornig. if it isnt the icp then go rent some movies cause your gonna be up all night
