Oh, no alky either. And add one intake. But that's just me. Let us know what you decide to do.

Or the brands of your choice on the above parts...
I would simplify that list as follows:
- MBC (Forge UNOS)
- BOV (Forge RS)
- Walbro Fuel Pump
- HKS 272 Cams
- Fidanza cam gears
- AMS LICP
- AMS custom flash

If you don't have gauges yet, then you might want to invest in a set (boost gauge at a minimum, and think about oil pressure/oil temp gauges as well)

Help me out! Any ideas would be appreciated!!
I'm as happy as the fat girl that got asked to the prom w/ my Buschur/Warrtalon package.

Only problem is you have more dough than that. What to do, what to do... I guess I'll tell you to do what I have planned: cams & meth injection. The only thing I'm waiting for is Al to be in the Seattle area.

Great list there, of course, but it shouldn't be near $3k, and if it is, he will get far less power than my list, which was about $2600. I don't see a need for cam gears, but they're a nice-to-have I guess.

The man said he had $2-3K and he still needs to be able to cover to cost of installation, no? After my experiences with cam-gear adjustments, there is no way I would run cams w/out adjustable cam gears, unless the stock 0/0 setting is the best setting, which did not seem to be the case for HKS 272s.

Personally I think the coated Buschur parts are good and if he can afford them, then by all means get them - especially the o2 housing. However, if he doesn't have gauges yet, then I'd go with that first. Might also want to consider the AMS FMIC.

I'm not a big fan of alky at all. I trust it about as far as I can throw it. I'd rather fill up with 100 octane unleaded or VP109 any day.

Alky works great, and is a far more powerful and useful mod than an FMIC. If he needs to pay for installation, too, then that's fine, but he didn't mention that. I, too, would knock off the ported/coated parts first if he needed a lot of money for installation. Even so, my list was $2600, which left $400 for installation.

Definitely don't need cam gears, and even if he had them, he'd have to learn how and where to set the cam gears for whatever his preference is. Possible, but not necessary, and the price still fits within the 3k ceiling on my list. So, if he only really has 2k (big difference from 3k, which is 50% more money), or needs 500+ for installation, then he can lop of mods starting from the bottom and moving up, imo (not including the flash, obviously).

Well, no cams and no alky plus an intake will put you about 60whp and 80wtq lower than this list, so keep that in mind.

Maybe a dumb question but if you do cams dont you also do many other mods with that. Fuel pump, injectors ect, tune and intsall its like 2700 right? Or am I wrong?

With cams ($500-550), you just need a retune ($100-300). ARP head studs are recommended while you're in there ($100). Install is $150-300 depending on who does it.

Fuel pump should already be in there, but you don't need injectors.

If there's any room left I would suggest some suspension stuff. Suspension has to be one of my favorite mods to any vehicle. Good luck with whatever you do!

Suspension isn't much worth doing unless you do coilovers. 99% of Evo owners don't know how to maximize the utility of the stock suspension anyway (including me).

Tonz of fun, $2700 is an exorbitant amount for all that. Are you sure your friend's shop knows how to tune an Evo? They have flashing software and are experienced? Cams are not a 6-hour gig. Al does it in 4 hours but spends half the time talking **** about Subies. Good Evo shops do it in 2 hours I think? Some Evo guys on here only charge locals $150.

I had my cams installed at TopSpeed in about 2 hours which included 45 min or so letting the car cool under a fan to make sure there was no warping. Price was well under $200 as well.

Hey guys, great replys... taking some great notes, I should have noted that I will probably be purchasing all my items + installation from AMS, since they are 45 miles from me... However, if there are parts cheaper out there to buy then bring it to AMS I guess I could do that as well...

This has been extremely helpful, and I will most likely be dropping 3k (not 2k)... Safety and reliability are probably my two biggest concerns when modding the evo.

So basically I want to walk into AMS and say heres 3k here is my list of mods, go to work... THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE

If you do that to/with AMS, then you will end up with an awesome car. You already have their exhaust, which is very expensive, so the rest shouldn't be too bad. Just the flash costs a lot, but you'll get a custom dyno tune out of it, so it will be great. They have their own LICP, which is very good, but I just want you to think hard if they suggest an FMIC instead of alky. You will make far more power with alky, but the AMS FMIC (also a very nice piece) looks nicer.
