The 100% denatured alcohol that I use is $12.77/gallon at Home Depot, and I use one can per 2 weeks. If you use 100% methanol, it's on ly about $3/gallon if you buy the 50-gallon drum for $150. It's way cheaper, but harder to source...I can just walk across the street to Home Depot for my alky, so I do that and pay more.

Not hard to order a drum of VP Meth so many places to get it from and would be much cheaper then Home Depot. Especially since you just said you use a can every two weeks. Almost pathetic not to order a drum. Especially with summer approaching, you're bound to use more.

Pathetic not to order a drum? I don't know why you'd use that word to describe it. It's much easier for me to get a can of alky across the street (I buy 4 cans at a time - 2 months worth). I don't have any desire to keep a 50-gallon drum of meth in my garage.

How did I know you were going to say that? Cam timing testing has been done by several people on both 272s and 280s. Here's the 272 timing test done by Ted B.: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...3&page=3&pp=15

The whole point is that adjustable cam gears allow you to fine tune WHERE you want to make power. I had mine set to -4/-1 on the 272s because I prefer the slightly better topend along with the stock-like idle. Ted B had his running at something like -3/-3 because he wanted earlier spool and better initial torque. No adjustable cam gears = no choice.
