(I'm 5'8" and 145 so know I'm just f'n around Have you thought about the CF rear doors? It's quite a bit of cash for those, but they save a LOT of weight and it's all up high. I think if I end up road racing, I"m going to invest in them. Does anyone know someone who has them? I wonder about fitment and security and all that.

but if you keep all the functional things including glasses you will save 78lbs total on 4 doors.
Just repeating what has been stating elsewhere. Check out the other mega-weightsavings thread. If I ever get some then I'll scale them. Probably will never happen though, unless I get mad money out of nowhere.

SEIBON Carbon Fiber doors front and rear fit great, perfect for show car or weight reduction 75-150+LBS Depends if keeping interior like me.
Perfect for Racing application. Interior sound like stock or quitter very nice. Doors weight 15 LBS rear and 17LB FRONT
Currently have them set up on My RS and only have front windows working rear are up and stay up.
Don't recommended for someone that wants full function or their windows and don't recomended for motor windows. It good for the track for those who want to light up their car and still drive it to the track and still feel that you are driving the same car but a lot lighter.
Unlike gutting out your good doors deal with all the noise and take away the fun of driving your car on the street every day. (Believe I've done last year to my other car gutting the doors hollow even talking the windows out drove it twice to the track like that and then decide to sell it, what I was thinking? You will end up with a very expencive track car only.)

omg that is the sadest thing I have ever seen done to an evo wtf duct tape gimme a break I could understand lexan glass for the windows even taking out the spare tire cf parts but wtf would you destroy your 30k daily driver and make it look worse than a riced out honda omg
There are right and wrong ways to remove weight from a car, and sorry to say it Mike, but youre anorexic compulsions have exceeded what 99.99% of people would be capable of putting up with on anything but a track only car.
Also, I find some of your contradictions to be interesting as well.
You haven't taken out the AC system for 25 lbs of savings off the front end of the car (the most needed spot), because you haven't planned it out fully yet, but you just ripped the headliner and sunroof out of the car with little thought about what you would do with the gaping hole in the roof. I'm no stickler for detail, but taping a lexan panel is a pretty -ishy way to get things done.
Also, you only have a drivers seat on a four door car, no windshield wipers (immediately ticket-able offense in my state at the very least), yet you have stated that you're only going to de-pin the harnesses and remove the excess wiring as the 'last of the last'? This demonstrates a lack of attention to detail and willingness to take on complexity that will plauge your goal.
You're simply going to have to bite the bullet and spend money to go fast, just like the guys that try to keep it full weight and just keep adding HP. Dry cf hood and trunk as well as the CF doors will cost you around 3500, sure, but its weight that you simply won't be able to save without them. Lexan windshield, rear glass, and doorglass is also going to be a necessity as well as a dry cf sunroof panel if you're expecting any kudos on this car from those who know how to appreciate fine work and follow through.
I'm a _huge_ fan of weight savings, and what you do to your own car is your own business, but when you post it up on a public forum, you have to expect criticism like mine and others, particularly when the work is of questionable quality and foresight.
