If he is dyslexic then I apologize, but I am not just talking about him
Anyway, continue with the topic
well as for the next week or so im going to lay out on planing to taking out the ac. as if every thing goes to plan. along with that i will also take the heater core out. i belive this will be one of the bigest jumps in the project and hardest.
[QUOTE=KillerMikeEvo]so mate your alittle late if i had all the money in the world i would be done. but i do have a race seat that is bolted to the floor. as you can see. the seat belt i didnt get the harness yet and that is what stoping me from taking some stuff out. and a friend is going to be doing a lot of CF stuff for me just have to wait for him to get out of school. and then we will go to town with it. and some of the things your talking about. the cost vs weight does not matter at this point in the car. there other things to spend money on. sorry mate just trying to think of a few things to help!

Heater core and blower motor arent all that heavy honestly. The AC system itself is more. You can also cut out the trunk floor as it doesnt serve much of a purpose. Replace that with sheet aluminum. Drill out all the spot welds for bracing that isnt needed and remove it (Door beams, etc).

the blower motor is ~7lb. lol every thing counts to get to 2500lb. on other note. ac seems like a ***** to get out. going to need to take the radader out to get eveything out. and th heater core is there 2 one for the ac and one for the heat? also im trying to do the project with out cutting anything. becasue if i do the trunk floor that is more of less no return. but do ya have any pics of yours.
Man thats insane i dont think i could just tear apart a precious car like that...lol more luck to ya though for real looks like tha fat girl just went on a anorexic diet...lol dont listen to the other ppl that tell u that this aint a good idea i think u could beat them no questions asked...lol
Nine, I like your sig pic because I'm an evangelion fan too, but your post is totally retarded. I'm guessing that stupid paint-shop picture has to be an inside joke of some kind, and even then it's ignorant to post it in this thread. Go figure, it follows with the direction of the conversations so far.
This thread lacks real content and that's what irritates me about it.
S4, I wouldn't have a problem with this guy if he did some basic research and decided to actually go through with the project instead of pussyfooting around with duct tape and unbolting the easy stuff he can figure out how to remove and reinstall if something unexpected happens. There is a definite fear of this 'point of no return' for some reason and I can't imagine a situation where the defined goal will be acheived otherwise. For example, removing the dash and heater core is significantly more difficult than removing the ac components from the engine bay and also, much less effective. However, I can see why he might be very reluctant to remove the AC. If something is botched in the process or the result isn't tolerable in some way, he's going to have to pay to get the AC recharged, but if the heater core job is FUBAR, then the problem could be mitigated in a simpler fashion.
Getting an evo down to 2500 lbs without spending a sizable lump of money or going past your perceived 'point of no return' is like trying to make love to a woman without getting your d1ck wet. You _might_ be able to do it, but you're not going to have nearly as much fun. Good luck with all that, slick.
