p0134

After changing the hotside, the O2 housing and the exhaust manifold I got the P0134 code. The O2 secor is pluged in and everything seem to be running normal. The car pulls way stronger and I'm happy with the results. Do you guys think I might have damaged the O2 trying to get it out from the old housing?
Any thoughts?

I used to have p0134 and p0171 on my 03 Evo which cause by a damaged front o2. Fix the codes by replacing the front 02 sensor.

Is it dangerous to drive with a faulty O2 for a while untill I get a new one?

Not really, but you will be wasting a LOT of gas.

Yup - a couple passages from the manual:

-------------------------------------------------------------
Code: P0134 Heated oxygen sensor circuit no activity detected (sensor 1)

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION REFERENCE TABLE
When the main sensor malfunctions are detected by the diagnostic test mode, the vehicle is controlled by means of the following defaults.

Heated oxygen sensor <front>
Air/fuel ratio closed loop control is not performed.

--------------------------------------------------------------

So, at WOT your car will feel "normal", because it runs open loop at that time.
But with the O2 not working, the car defaults to the open loop maps, so you will burn gas like mad.

O2 sensors are more sensitive than people think.
Do yourself a favor. Search for a aftermarket replacement sensor.
It will be less than half the price of the OEM.

Even with the computer having a reflash, it will still go to that open loop map?

Well I found an aftermarket O2 sensor on oxygensensors.com for 99.95. Can't find them for any less than that
