i have a small loss of boost and a slight rattling noise
can only boost around 14-15 PSI in 1st and 2nd and won't boost over 18-19 PSI in 5th (MBC set at 21) and like the title says a small rattling that seems like its coming from the back of the engine. Did a pipe maybe partially come off at the intake and the rattling is the loose pipe? tried to search but all my search combos yielded nothing of consequence. Thanks in advance for any help
Nope thats normal . With the boost controller set to be at 19 psi by redline you have to peak at 23 in 5th gear WOT and that should tapper down to 19 or so by redline .
That should have you set-up for 1st through 5th now

well i have it set to 21 and today i was seeing 13-14 in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd throughout the powerband, and then there's the rattling which i really hope isnt detonation. Haven't thrown a CEL though
yea in that case it doesnt sound normal . Try checking all your connections , intercooler piping , vacum lines , make sure all your oil levels are correct then take it back to mitsu and have them take a quick look at it

Well This happend to my Evo..... The Butt Dyno Told me i didnt lose power.... But my Boost Gauge was reading 10Psi..... And there was this rattling Sound.... Then i Found out that the Rattling sound was the Needle of my Boost Gauge (Autometer) so my gauge was just messed up maybe thats ur Prob.

that could be it, the last couple hours it was boosting anywhere from 14-17 psi and the rattling came and went and it does sound like its coming from the steering column (which is where my gauge is, and it is an automater gauge)
