Rattling sound coming from under car...

I tried searching for my issue but I can't seem to find it.. I bought my evo a few days ago and it already had an upgraded exhaust on it but once I hit about 2500-3000 rpms there is a loud rattle under the car.. I believe its the heat shields rattling against the exhaust pipe or something like that. Would it be bad to completely take the heat shields off if tightening them doesn't stop the issue??

Do you have a DP? If so it's probably that. Mine is rattling off the T-Case

My 3" inch downpipe rubs on the oil pan a little and the t case as well. I put a little piece of heat wrap in between them and it helps. I think removing your downpipe and having a shop bend it a little more would be a better fix.

I was meaning to say mine use to rattle. I recently wrapped mine as well and get the same thing. More of a thud instead of a loud rattle.

I'll have to go under my car when I get the chance and check it out but could I safely remove the heat shields with out ruining anything?
