P0136 error (2nd O2 sensor) with an O2 simulator
I'm running an O2 simulator and have gotten a P0136 error. When using an O2 simulator, does the O2 sensor still report errors to the ECU? The simulator is blinking, showing that it is functioning.
I think it might be possible that the sensor wires may have been damaged - a local shop was hanging the exhaust by the wires when I had my clutch changed.

You need to ..
A. Do a search
B. Provide more details.
C. Phone the make of the O2 sim and see what they say.
Did you solder all connections (you are generally better to do so)?
Put the OEM cat back in (you may have to dremmel out the wholes on the flanges to make it fit depending on the specific exhaust system). Remove the O2 sim and solder the wires.
Reset the ECU and drive for 500 miles.
If the code comes back, your sensor/connection is fooked (which is most likely if the exhaust was hanging from it )
If not, then the sensor was fine, but the connections were bad or the sim was crap.

I have the exact same problem, i dont' think it's the fact that it was hanging, i've just got my o2 sensor installed, it's a brand new o2 sensor, the shop checked all the wiring, and found nothing wrong, we reset the code, and it just came back on after like 5 minutes, we called perin and they said it's either a bad unit, or a bad o2, well we know the o2 is fine, but the unit being bad i'm not so sure, but they also said that it could be the fact that i have a 06 evo 9, the guys at perrin don't know if it's the same as an evo 8.
