anyone know? people keep telling me its compressor surge but i heard a STi with this at the time attack in cali speedway

 

Sounds like an HKS SSQ to me.

 

its the bov fluttering. There shouldn't be any bov out there that makes that sound. He probably has too much spring tension or wasn't letting off enough to fully open it.

 

That it's not an hks ssq bov i've heard it before and a jdm supra from one of the guys thadrives for best motoring ilike that bov

the crawford sti has it... and my friends with 240sx say theres a specific brand that actually flutters like that...

 

That's a sound of a Tial Bov.. the sound coming of the BOV is ver distictive. and you can't forget it. I have it in my 97 GSX..

 

i have almost all the best motoring, and i''m pretty sure that's the blitz blow off valve, nomura ken's skyline sounds just like that, and he has a blitz blow off valve.

 

It's not a BOV at all.

it's not the brand. It's because it recircs. My 323 used to do that. An open element filter makes it easier to hear. It's the diverted air (possibly causing a shockwave) bouncing back and forth in the intake manifold. Watch any WRC video .. at least from the 90s. However, I don't know what's different in the Evo, I can't hear it at all.

 

greddy type s, hks ssq bov is nothing like that, and the tial is more of a whipping sound.

 

Two sound, one is BOV and another one is turbo, I don't know if this Supra has two BOV or only one BOV under the hood ??sounds like the BOV is not open enough. The sound is the BOV did not open enough to let the air out, so it go back to the turbo, I did hear one bov sound only, but rest of sound is from turbo. It did not sound like HKS BOV tho. more like Greddy or Blitz.
