Real driving lessons?
I was born and raised in the bay area driving 85-90 in heavy traffic so I'm good there. But what about taking the Evo to do a
.97 lat. g. I know I am going to need driving lessons to obtain that. Anybody know of schools out there or they have been to and what did you really learn? I currently live south of Atlanta and thought about road atlanta but don't know much about it.
Or I could wait till I go home and go to Infineon (sears point). I
just don't think most of us cannot handle what the Evo can really do.

Go to a few High performance Driving Events, or Autocrosses. You will gain valuable knowledge regarding your cars handling at these sorts of events.
They are also a fun, cheap, and legal way to see what your Evo can really do!

Highly recommend the Evolution schools. I have been through their Phase I (twice) and their Phase II courses, and learned a lot. Plus, you get around 30 runs for each course, alone, with instructor driving, and you driving with instructor. Most of the instructors are national level SCCA drivers, and know their stuff. Definitely helped me in my Solo II events.

I've done the skip barber 2 day classes and I autox alot for about 2 years.
The skip barber class was good to learn some fundamentals but you really don't get enough seat time in 2 days to really get a feel.
I would say start autoxing as much as you can. If your region has practice days, go for that.
I've heard really good things about the Evolution Driving Schools as well as 2Cool said.
For me, seat time was more important that anything else.

If you are interested in coming up this way, or are open to traveling even further, send me a PM or email and I'll give you more info.
I've got a roadmap of every high performance driving event and track time opprortuniy in an eight state radius.
