Unfortunately the insurance company would simply low ball you for the lowest price they can find your model Evo (no... most insurance companies don't even use blue book) and give you that. In addition, you wont get a dime from your mods because you must declare them to your insurance company for them to be covered.

I learned the hard way when my 2001.5 Audi A4 was totaled.

Blue book = $19k
Mods = $7k

What they gave me = $16.5k (based on 5 cheap *** sh*tty beat up cars they found as "replacement vehicles")

Mercury insurance = the worst!

Thats why I opted to pay for the Lojack Early Recovery System in my new Evo. If i'm more than 25 feet away from my car and its moved, Lojack immediately contacts me via my cell phone, home phone, and e-mail. I have a little transponder on my key which allows me to move my car without the system being set off and "calling lojack".

Works wonders. Its the only LoJack worth money considering the old system was worthless in most circumstances because by the time you realize your car is gone, its already been chopped into little pieces.
