It is called "tracking".
It is common with wide tires and stiff suspensions on uneven roads.

That was me quoting Evol.
Anyway, I agree with you. I started the thread in order to find out if it was a real problem and needed to take the car to the dealer. Now that I know that this isn't the case, if nothing can't be done about it, It won't be long until I get used to it. If this is a side effect because of the performance of the car, I'll be more than happy to deal with it!!
Thanks for all the replies!!

Yes, I noticed this too. Sometimes it is downright scary. It pulls the wheel out of your hands if you are not hanging on tight. Mostly though my Evo tracks real straight on smooooth roads which I am happy about. I guess until some large bumps in the road find me and throw the wheels out of joint...

I am in western Suffolk, where are you?

Yep.....Welcome to the world of high performance summer tires and stiff suspensions. Thats the edge of the tire tread blocks following the imperfections in the road....and the suspension not deflecting to allow the tire to easily ride over that imperfection.

Now you understand why the training video said to keep both hands on the wheel at all times, right?

If you live in NY and you put many miles on you car (daily driver)
you should upgrade/downgrade to a different tire, that is why so
many evos get into accidents once the car hits the pot hole
it will be all over the place. Tight suspension has very little to
do with the way the car stears off the road it does it because of
the really hard and wide tires.

Yah, I'm also from Long Island, west suffolk area.. And driving westbound on the LIE Every day is annoying because it catches the ruts in the pavement.. I'm used to this because my Camaro Did it, my Corvette did it, my Neon with the 17's and suspension mods did it.. And the fact that our steering is really quick, any imperfection feels like the road wants to grab the wheel out of your hands and you need to fight it a bit. I've found handling potholes was actually an improvement over my Neon's suspension though.

I thought I saw someone say they were from Huntington.. What are the odds that there are Two black evo's in the same zip code! Sheesh.. I'm from Melville here..

If you stretch it out a bit (exit 36 of LIE) you can now say 3 black evos!!!

evolucionado,

how does evo compare to a 2G Eclipse, do you have any
upgrades on your eclipse?

here are the cars that I use to have.

4- Starions turbo 5spd
91 Eclipse GST 5spd (sold)
94 Camry V6SE 5spd (sold)
94 VR4 AWD turbo 6spd (sold)
1997 GSX Auto ran 13.8s many upgrades (sold)
1994 GSX 5spd ran 12.3s many upgrades (sold)
1999 Lexus GS400 w/Navigation current

I kind of miss my 1994 GSX, but I enjoy the Lexus I still think
if I should sell GS400 and get an evo.

Off topic, but I'll reply.
2G
The car is heavily moded. 20g, fmic, 550cc, external wastegate, afc and/or vpc, etc, etc.
2G felt faster on the butt dyno (for obvious reasons). Hated most of the suspension combos I tried on the car. It felt and handled really crappy (messed up roads around here). Two doors, tiny back seats (friends complaining all the time!!). Also some driveability issues due to the modifications. Lots of rattles.

Evo
What can I say.. I'm in love with the car. It handles like a dream!!! Everything about the car screams performance. And the looks, the functional seats in the back, a nice size trunk, four doors. It was an easy decision for me. I need a little more power just because I'm used to the 2g (12.6 at 111. I know I can't drive!!), but for a stock car, power is good. Besides one could get to the level of the 2G and retain driveability and then some. I think the interior is good enough. Love the seats. One rattle so far. Like I said I love the car no regrets so far!!
I know this is short but I hope it helps.

any car with wide tires and a somewhat tight suspension will pull to either side depending on the imperfection of the road surface. my WRX does it, my Trans Am did it, my dad's vette does it. it's normal. the wider, gripier tires are like water looking to follow the path of least resistance. they may feel a little wandery on bad roads, but haul *** and stick like a mother on good roads.

Wouldn't that be unreal to have 4 Black Evos lined for a Photo op.
Let's make it happen 1 weekend. I'll drive to your neck of the woods.
