I am not saying I'd rather have worn tires than new and I am not talking about dangerously bald tires with the threads exposed, but I really appreciate how the car behaves differently when the tires are about to get replaced. I have to pay attention a lot more and know how fast I can take a corner. It's also a lot easier to slide than when I have new tires. The best part about having worn tires is the anticipation of how the car will handle on those same corners when I have a new set. I go from having to do less than 50mph to BAM! G-force cornering on rails and lots of joy for 9-10 months.

you buy performance tires for a reason. if you don't like tires to wear down fast then just get pirelli's or falkens which last you a long time and they are pretty good in corners.
