I know the EVO glass is thinner than the lancer glass this is why it is lighter. Not sure of fitment issues though. I hope this helps.

i just called Huntington Beach and verified it again. thanks
Evo glass = MR991637 It is true that it costs less than regular Lancer glass.

The people who paid $150 for Lancer glass might have gotten 3rd party glass, which by what I'm told is the same OEM manufacturer for Mitsu. - Lamisafe.

I just looked up MR991637 on mitsubishiparts.com, and you can get it for $336 there. I have no idea how shipping a windshield goes though... But that's also the same price if you drill down to just regular Lancer glass though, so I'm not sure which one they're posting.

So is it true that you can't just go to a glass shop and have them order the Evo glass, even if you gave them the part number?

i need to replace mine soon and it looks like Safelite autoglass has 2 version of the standard Lancer windshield. One version has a blue tint band across the top and the 2nd version doesn't have the blue tint, but a painted visor??? which one should i get?

If you have full glass coverage like I do, with no deductible. Just call your agent, and and say youre gonna make a claim for glass coverage, then call whatever company you want, and make sure to tell them you want a OEM Evo windshield. Mine just cracked, and since it was all covered, i got me a new evo oem windshield
OEM Evo winshields dont have blue tint. Its clear at the top. But it has those little black dots where the rear view mirror goes. Just make sure to ask for OEM Mitsu Evo Winshield or give me a part number.

1. Is this it too late to fill original hole and not have it spread anymore? I think I can live with a 5 inch crack.

2. Has anyone successfully ordered OEM Evo windshield? How long did it take?

3. Can someone confirm OEM Lancer windshield fitment would also work? (I am aware it its heavier)

4. How much is this going to cost me without labor?
I had the same issue, and the crack will continue to spread. Just get a stock lancer windshield. They fit and are about 3lbs heavier and don't cost half as much. I think I paid a little over $300 to have mine installed.

I haven't read the thread in its entirety, so I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this... but I'm pretty sure your insurance company will cover it for free. Though I may be wrong, but it wont hurt to contact them and find out.

(not sure if this has been addressed), make sure it doesn't come with the mirror mount on it already. Lancer and Evo rearview mirror mounts are different.

And oh, it fits perfectly in an evo. I found out the hard way the mounts were different.
