What kind of driver are you?

Just wanted to know what kind of driving/racing everybody here likes best. Whether your preference is mountain driving, auto x, drag, or street racing.

For me nothing beats TOUGE! love the concentration it requires and the view. Can't beat that kind of adrenaline rush.

how can you possibly be looking at the view a touge has to offer when you're concentrating as you said?

touge is dangerous, i know from first hand experience and many second hand experience accounts. and i'm not talkin' about pussyfootin' it around some mountain twisties. i come from the home of mulholland race way and in the end, i can't afford to drive touge. no run off and dirt will always put you somewhere you don't wanna be for the next 4 months, whether it's in the hospitol and the aftermath associated with that (bills), body shop and the aftermath associated with that (getting things perfect again), etc.

that said you can push it as hard as you want on autocross will next to 0 consequences.

i also enjoy roadracing.

I drive like Miss Daisy! I can usually get 300+ miles (freeway of course) out of a tank of gas. I do like to get it up in the mph on the highway once in a while but other than that, I baby it. I haven't even launched the car yet and I had it since Dec. I am probably a bit older than most of the peeps here on the forums.

I love driving the thing! For the most part it is just used for everyday driving. I like to go out and find nice twisty roads to drive fast on. I don't drive hard all the time, and I don't beat on it. I haven't been to a track yet, but it is on my list of things to do with the car. It is hard to say what type of racing I would like more, because I have never done either.

Track days are where it's at. I took my Evo to the track when it had 1200 miles on the odo and still had dealers plates on. I can't wait to hit the track again this summer.

Drag racing is also fun on occasion, but not really as much fun as a track day. Too much waiting around for only 12 seconds of track time.

I used to think back roads style TOUGE was great fun until i totaled my $27k car.

I also used to think street racing was fun until i got a $850 ticket.

live and learn i guess.
