Fuel Pressure Gauge Question

I read someplace that you can't or are not supposed to mount a mechanical fuel pressure gauge inside the cabin of the car. I want to use a mechanical fuel pressure gauge and mount it inside the cabin, in a steering column gauge pod, but I'm looking to see if anybody knows if what i heard is true, and if it is, why? The only thing i can think of is if raw fuel actually runs to the gauge it would then be inside the bay, but it doesn't seem that fuel should come right up to the gauge but actually be measured where you tap your fuel lines. Somebody educate me.

For like an FPR? THose are usualy mounted under the hood.

ANyway, you don't want a mechanical FP gauge in the cabbin.... or water temp, or oil pressure, or oil temp, etc... for the same reason. You will have to run a line of the liquid into your cabin and into the gauge. If anything leaks, it's going to leak all over your stock gauges and cabin. Go electricle. Rely on an electric signal to enter the cabin and not the fuel/ oil/ coolent, etc.

I've got an oil temp, pressure, and water temp gauges in my DSM and NONE of them are mechanicle.

Mechanical fuel pressure gauge = running fuel lines through your firewall and into the cabin. I dont think you need to me to tell you that burning to death inside your car is unpleasant.
