i hate to see the monthly payments on a gt3, but hey if you can afford it, go for it. just depends if you want looks and performance or just performance. (porsche vs evo).

So the wife hates the EVO and has given her blessing to the GT3......(God Love Her ) but your worried that it will be "noticed" at a Union shop?

Just drive your F-250 on the assumedly rare "sunny days/weekends" you'd have to show up at the shop.

I think it's great that you love your Evo so much, but I think it's time to take off the Coke glasses

I am about to send the car down to Buschur and have a stroker motor, AEM, and the 3065 put on along with some variation of the Robi Spec suspension. Problem is my wife REALLY HATES THE EVO. She wants me to sell the Evo and order the GT3.

Problem is I really love the Evo, its fast as hell and nobody notices my white RS, which is nice. The GT3 would make a great weekend track car and with the PCCB brakes be pretty reliable to run on the weekends. I know the evo can be made to run faster then the GT3 but I have driven a few Porsche's (993tt, GT3, 996tt) and they are very fun cars to track.

One more twist is the Twin Turbo is also an option over the GT3, the wife has said...whatever you want as long as you get rid of the Evo!

Either car is a sunny day/weekend car.

Autoweek GT3 Story

is that a question or you are just out of your mind today?

I am at the shop 10 hours a day so the only time I get to drive during the week is back and forth to work, and *uck I really hate the pick-up. Plus I am out on jobsites a lot on weekends and the Evo is not a problem there.

We have a three car garage so we are limited to 3 cars. I don't want to deal with storing a car somewere else.

You probably don't know much/anything about Porsche or a GT3 and this is why you are asking this question. You are comparing apples and oranges when you're asking EVO vs GT3 so it's an unfair question to begin with.....but if someone showed me an Evo and a GT3 it would take a nanosecond before I chose the GT3.....so listen to your wife and get the Porsche.....I hope I didn't offend you but pound for pound the Porsche is much more superior to the Evo....and yes you can make the Evo just as fast as the Porsche but that's not the point. I would rather have Jessica Alba then someone that is made to look like her.....

um... tell your wife to get the gt3. if she doesn't like your evo, she doesn't have to go in it or even look at it. pontiac solstice looks pretty, maybe she should get one of those and get off your back.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the porsche, which is where I think this situation is headed.

It is not that I don't know Porsche's, I have had a few it's just that I really know the Evo. If I bust it (which I do do) it's not a problem to rip it apart and fix it, hell the motor is laying on the garage floor now I like working on cars and with the GT3 there is not much to do. Seems like every German car I have ever had is a major pain to work on and usually needs a bunch of special tools.

I agree... no matter how fast your evo is...its still a evo. you should try something different imo and get the GT3... should have no regrets

You see people just keep typing and not reading. He keeps giving his reasons for liking his EVO, and we just ignore his opinions.
"Yes you can make the EVO to be faster", his EVO already is faster and will be much faster pretty soon. He spent a lot of time and sweat and money into this EVO, and to have it go away because somebody else doesn't like it is tough. He likes the sedate, not too much attention capabilities of the EVO RS, maybe that's just how he likes it, who are we to step on his toes. Just my opinion, but maybe one day he does plan on buying a Porsche, but right now wasn't time, especially when he had so much planned for his EVO and it seems like he is being forced to ditch these ploans. You guys are looking at this wrong, your looking at this as GT3 vs. EVO and not taking his situation into account.

Exclamation

Without a doubt, get the GT3. Sure you can make the evo faster than a GT3, but there goes the reliability and well... you still have a mitsubishi. Also, don't listen to these clown telling you to keep the evo or get rid of the wife, they are no more than 17-21 years of age and some still living home w/ parents.

If you can afford it and you really want it, no dobut... drop the evo and get it. I would do it in a hearbeat. Make yourself happy, make the wife happy, you drive a PORSCHE now, and not just any porsche, a GT3.

P.S. Go for the TT option...
