Evo IX Stock bulbs suck!!

Hey everyone, is it just me or are the stock evo headlight bulbs (not HID) too dim? I can't see a thing when I'm away from the city at night driving without using high beams. Anyone replace their stock bulbs with different ones? What kind, how strong (k)?
Thanks in advance

Actually they aren't as bad as I thought they would be. I used to have an 03 and loved the HID. I decided to go the aftermarket route for the 06. I went w/ a kit from autodoodad.com and I am installing it tonight. I'll let you know what I think.

Well I really don't want to go the HID route, just regular drop in bulbs will do just fine for me. I never was really big on investing money into headlights But for some reason I can't find any info on what kind of bulbs people replace the stockers with.

That and play with the alignment a bit and you'll be good to go.

Silverstars made a big improvment in my 02 Ranger Edge. It was like night and day in comparison, but at a price of $20 a piece. A small price for improved visability, they even have rebates ones in awhile.

Just ordered them. How well do they work with a stock headlight, they don't get too hot?

Bump for other options.

I've got the IX base and I'm blind at night especially if it's raining.

I think you made a mistake, thy won't produce more light, infact they will produce less because they have a blue film over it. I believe the brightest lights you can have is OSRAM (euro) +50%.

Sorry, I forgot to update you guys on the hoen bulbs. They are definetly better then the stockers, but HIDs would probably the next upgrade.
