Intercooler pipe blew off
i carry tools now too since this happened to me. however.... if it blows off from the bottom(off intercooler itself) you're f'd roadside... that's what happened to me. $65 tow + half day off work to take off front bumper and put hose back on VERY tightly.
Just a heads up to other IX owners; the Injen LICP does NOT fit the IXs due to the different turbo-outlet pipe. It CAN fit, but it'll BARELY fit right and eventually cause the thing to blow off.
After having it blow off twice, I took it to the local PeakBoost (former;now have there own shop) welder guys and had them weld on an extension piece on the Injen pipe. With that done, the Injen pipe now literally touches the turbo-outlet and the intercooler endtank piece. Also used T-bolt clamps for added insurance. No probs since.
I'm guessing you're referring to when the coupler blows off. Believe it or not, even though your not in full boost, there's still air flowing through those IC pipes. I have a HKS SSQV vented to atmosphere, and when I'm under the hood and checking for leaks, I push the throttle and as soon as released, you can feel a good amount of air escaping the BOV. The 2nd time it blew off on me, I did just that; drove the car home in 5th gear...having to shift at 2K (stalls if you go higher) and max speed is 25 (also stalls if higher).

This happened to me and my brother was driving and i knew what it was and when i looked at the engine it blew off where it connects to the throttle body and i the clamp was no where to be found. I drive it home very carefully and then my engine check light comes on. The codes were o2 sensor and the catalyst. Once i got home i put a new clamp on there and never had a problem. Does anyone know why the engine light came on? And why it couldve affected those things?
CEL came on because you blew off the clamp. Trust me, I had the same thing happen to me and I cleared it, but that damn CEL for my cat kept coming back for some odd reason, so I don't know if when I blew off my clamp, if that could have possibly killed my cat for some odd reason. Needless to say, I replaced it with a test pipe and a mechanical fix and that CEL never came back. Just reset the code and see if it comes back on again.
I reset the code once then it came back on, then i took it to the dealer and they said theres nothing wrong with the o2 sensor or the cat, so they cleared it and it still came back on. So now i have to go back AGAIN to get the o2 sensor replaced. Do you know why the o2 sensor was affected?
So you keep getting the P0420 as well eh? And your still on stock exhaust? Same exact thing happened to me. Like I said before, I replaced the cat with a test pipe and mechanical fix and it never came back on. I don't know what to tell you, but I had the EXACT same problem as you. Just ignore the light and put on the TBE and be sure to have a mechanical fix so it doesn't come back. I'm hoping somebody can come in and chime in about why that code kept coming back despite being on stock exhaust.
The dealership said it was the o2 sensor that was on the turbo outlet. The o2 sensor your talking about i think is the one on the exhaust. If it was the one on the exhaust yes i wouldve been put the tbe on with the mechanical cel fix.

I had the IC clamp on the throttle body when I was about 400 miles from home. I thought the turbo blew or something. Thing that sucked was I didn't see it popped off when I looked under the hood because the hose was still pushed up against the throttle body. So I had it towed to a U-haul and trailered the damn thing back. As soon as I got home popped the hood and seen it. I was pissed and glad at the same time. I replaced it with a clamp made for a rig and it has never came off again.
