Repost...
The EVO isn't the 2nd most stolen vehicle, but the 2nd most frequently stolen vehicle per 1,000. Still a little scary, glad I bought my alarm although I doubt it's really that much of a deterent.

i saw the segment on cnbc at work today
"Escalades had the highest rate of insurance theft claims for the fourth straight year, according to a study released Wednesday by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The Escalade was followed by the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and the Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab pickup"
Does anyone feel that this information being posted to the public makes certain vehicles MORE PRONE to theft now?
Maybe some cars were being overlooked by thieves, but now they have a "list of the nation's most wanted" to guide them.

parked right next to my Evo. They didn't even bother looking at the Evo which at the time had the stereo in, aftermarket wheels and all the other goodies (that I don't leave in the car anymore). After I ran out with a home made naginata ready for some slicing, dudes disappeared in a puff of smoke.
