Exhaust system changed! What next?

Hi

on my 04 evo 8 It's installed Magnaflow cat back system (3" SS tubing, 4" p-SS tip) (already on the car when I bought), but I have standard OEM air intake system.

What's are yours suggestions about intake system for max. overall performance (stay on OEM or upgrade)?

thanks

IMHO stay with the oem setup with a drop in. If you want to go aftermarket I would go with a induction box (ie ARC).

Drop in means drop in filter meaning stick with the stock intake setup and drop in a k&n or something.

u can always get ur intake down the road, which would be best, because your car will be ready... only thing is that you will need a tune right after.....

#1 get a boost gauge. then either get a flat panel k&n stock replacement or buschur intake filter kit (will need tune for BR kit), forge mbc, walboro 255, forge/JDM MR BOV and tune. that will get you a smooth running beast. the buschur intake kit has been found to provide 11hp over the flat panel (search buschur intake vs k&n) but at the expense of increased intake sound. i have the buschur kit and the sound is definately noticeable but not bad.

OK

boost gauge I have (Blitz turbo timer with boost reading).

I will go after K&N "drop in" (I have to change the filter)

Also I will probably go after Hallman MBC. Could anybody tell me what is still the safe boost with that settings (everything else is stock)? Is it 21 psi too much?

Also please tell me if I upgrade with MBC, can I remove hose lines between solenoid and wastegate (with restrictor pills inside) and replaced them with usual hoses without that restrictors?

In first stage I will not change BOV and fuel pump. Or should I have to change it? Is that to risky?

How much horse power should I get with that settings?

thanks
