i thought it was common knowledge that most shops use a proprietary a/r housing...

most turbo kits aren't the same. shops do their own machining, their own housing sourcing etc. that said... they shouldn't be too different either.

You guys have nothing to worry about

Some turbos came from Precision turbo while others came right from Garrett.

PTE makes there own Compressor covers and turbine housings As does garrett.
We tested both sets of compressor and exhuast housings and the performance output was the same. They are still Garrett turbos down to wheels, center section, catriage etc. The only difference is the two housings (compressor and exhuast). The quality is great from both companies and the power potential is as well so we source them from both companies.

I understand The A/R reads differently but they perform the same.

With how many vendors in this industry that burn customers I dont blame you guys for being a little on edge.

We have always had a very upstanding reputation and we would never risk it on something like a group buy.

We would never release a product to the public that we didnt stand behind.

feel free to email me or call me with any questions.

Eric

i hope you guys don't advertise these as garrett turbos, because there is a difference between garrett and PTE........ Ever notice how many PTE's fail compaired to garrett?

They are all genuine Garrett center sections / Cartridges. Precision does not make their own ball bearing center sections. We have never had a single ball bearing turbo fail in over 300 units sold.

As far as fail, have seen very few fail from both, but I do know that precision turbos are a lil looser than the garrets as far as the wheels having more play.

What exactly do you mean by wheel play? Are you refering to axial shaft movement or radial movement? Incidentally, PTE(Precision) designs and manufactures their own proprietary turbine housings which are generally improved designs based on the Garrett housings with enhanced flow characteristics for high performance applications.

The Precision turbine housings for the TO4 turbos exhibit about a 15 hp advantage over the Garrett housings. This has been proven by the Buick guys, who generally prefer the improved Precision housing upgrades.
