Scam? Andy Mabutol sounds like a name that a scam artist comes up with.

 

hmm ya it does sound fishy? Tell 'em you'll do it for 300 bucks, and you want the check befre you come in.

 

I would never hand over my car to anyone. Anyways, they would probably want this too

 

i dont think they can dig up too many evo's with stock exhaust systems, cause let me tell you...my car probly would make the engineers frown

 

I got the letter about 6 months after I got my evo, but the exhaust system was so different and I didn't want to give up my car so I just threw it away

 

Wait a min, lemme get this straight...

They want my car, for X number of days, and I get to drive a POS rental? And what do I get out of it? Nothing?

This is for real. They tested my mothers Galant for emissions. The EPA lab is located in Ann Arbor. They tested her car, and all was correct, gave it back and 150 bucks. Debbie Miller was who she talked to. They really wanted my car - I laughed and said no thanks, they still presisted (I guess not too many Evos have gone through it), I told her on the phone - look, I have an aftermarket exhaust, I will not pass the EPA test, and no I dont want that fixed.

No one but me, my brother, and my mechanic drives my car. Exp. not some engineering lugheads I dont know, and I am not watching. The damage they could cause would be well over the 150 they pay you.

Trust no one.

 

But guys, you get $150 and they will tell you your warranty is voided in person

 

I got the same letter two days ago, and have no plans to participate.
The letter should start with - If your car is stock...............

i thought about returning their letter with this printed over it...

 

rofl.... i'm sure this is a huge scam by mitsubishi to weed out anyone with modified vehicles so they can just mark you down as having "no warranty".

I'd only do it if they cut me a check for $5000 which i would put away for any future issues they wont cover due to my voided warranty.

.... morons.
