Never thought of it...is this bad???

Somebody ask me this past few days.

Is it bad if you dont run your car for a while??? Is this bad for the engine?? In his case, he only run the car 3 times every 5-6months. Does any of the tempereture[weather] share big effects on this?

your should at least turn it on and let the engine run from 15 min once a week....

let the oil circulate, let the coolant circulate

I would also move it some so no flat spots on your tires

Meh. I let my Eclipse sit the whole winter with the battery out. It sat for about 6 months and when I got in the first time, it fired right up. I let it idle for about 10 mins, then drove it cautiously, but there were no issues.

Your Seals tend to dry out and develop leaks, if not turned over at least once every couple of weeks. If you ever bought a used vehicle, with low milage, but quite a few years. That's one of the first maintenance you'll end up having to take care of, replacing seals.

running it for 15 minutes at idle wont help, or even driving it.. he should take it out for a 20 - 30 minute highway drive to build full oil pressure and operating temp before shutting it off again...

just 15 minutes of low pace driving just makes more wear and tear like stop and go traffic....

Bringing the car up to temperature will also remove any moisture in the exhaust system.
