maf prblem?

maf prblem?

i pulled my intake off to clean up the hard pipe cause im going to a meet and noticed i got a very light film of oil inside the maf. how do i clean that out. or should i just leave it alone. plus my catch can had no oil in it. but the last 2 times it did when i cleaned it out. this time it had nothing. its about 3 mounths sice the last cleaning. thanks

If you're using a K&N filter its most likely the oil from that.

get a CRC MAF cleaner and clean it out.

You dont want any kind of oil build up/dirt build up on the sensors.

I would recommend that you check/clean it every 15k miles or so.

The car will run more effecient that way.

CRC MAf cleaner would be to harsh for our MAF. get alcohol

crc light brake cleaner. or they make a maf cleaner. i have a hks intake so k&n is out of the question. so what do i do if crc is to harsh.

tilt the assembly in such a way that as you jet the oily film, it will drip down and not puddle in the maf. it dries in no time.

ok now do i do that in bouth directions of the maf. has you used this stuff did it mess with anything. im asuming i can get it at autozone?

use contact cleaner,spray the hell out it and it will dry nice and clean and wont hurt anything. i use to spray the ignition system on my dirt bikes with contact cleaner and it always worked great. foreget about break cleaner or alcohol and get the contact cleaner.

i wish everyone would think the same. lmao. il get that as well. il see if one begines to hurt the maf. if so il spray it with the other ****. maby il be able to save it at that point. thanks guys for the help.
