Can the Mits dealer erase your tune?

I was reading in another complaint thread the during a customer's 30k mile service the dealer erased his tune. Is this possible? Do they do this on purpose or what? Can you ask them not to *** with the ECU?

It won't make a difference AC556k, if they ever did, we would reapply the tune we have on file to your ECU for free.

When I first bought my car used , they flashed me back to stock I believe. I think I was tuned b/c I have cams. So that erased my tune or flash? I thought it didn't.

The dealer can reflash the ECU and therefore over-write whatever was in ther (read: your flash-based tune would be gone). If you have a non-Ecutek based flash, then you can back up your own ECU using ECUflash (free) and the associated cable ($89).

Dealer cannot flash Ecutek licensed ECU.
