Anyone know if you can buy the little wing lip thing on the 9's seperate to put on an 8 wing? Mistu part number or proper name for it? I have tried searching but dont know the proper name and local dealership keeps trying tell me its the VG and the 9 doesn't have any differences in either wing, which i know is wrong 8 is all CF and 9's are fiber and CF center with a CF lip.

Yeah, it's called a gurney flap. It also goes by a different name, but I can't remember what it was. Lancershop also has them as a "wing extension" I believe, in CF for around $220.

Tad expensive for a strip of plastic..... even for carbon fibre it's expensive...

 

just do it the cheap way and get some of that side striping for the car. thats what i recall a member on here recently did and it cost him like what 20 bucks not even

It's hilarious that they charge $75 for that. When I first saw it, i thought someone had taken a plastic door gaurd and stuck it on the back end of the spoiler. I get the impression they had an extra box on the MR brochure that was empty and needed something to fill it with quick and this was the solution.

 

No kidding, it feels like it's gonna break off if you mess with it. The wing is off much less quality on the new Evo's as well. Mitsu actually offered to replace mine when my car was in for some other work because the clear was fading and I told them if they take my carbon fiber wing they're gonna die

STOP THE PRESSES! So let me get this straight, I have an evo VIII and the clearcoat is peeling. The new wing is currently backordered, but is being replaced under warranty. Am I to understand that i'm to get the same rinky dink POS that they put on the IX? I was hoping that'd be the only leftover piece intact after I roll my car multiple times down a cliff and plummet to my fiery death at the bottom of some nameless canyon........ On a serious note, anyone have any insight here?
