The manual says to use Mobil 1 synthetic 10w30... so that's what I use. Do you guys ever use the extended life Mobile 1 that's suppposed to last 15,000 miles? It's like $6-8 more, but I can't tell a difference. I always change the oil at around 3000 miles, so I figured it's kind of a waste to get the extended life.

Why do 2 guys in this thread add 6 qts. of oil to their crankcases, another adds 5 quarts and yet another fills his motor with 4.5 quarts? I understand that some Evos are hungrier than others, but...maybe I´m missing something here.

I think the first guy meant that he buy's the case which is six qts. The auto parts store we have our account through also gets it by the case. I just keep the extra qt. and a little bit everytime every time. After 5 casese you can do another oil change. I hope there not putting in six quarts. Some just put in the whole 5 but definately dont put in six.
