Cam install prep ?

So I just have a question as to what type of lube/ oil do you put on the cams when installing. I've always just put the oil on the lobes and never had any issue's but I was told I needed to use something else...?

just about any type of assembly lube, it is a good bit thicker than regular oil and will stay on the lobes better while you finish assembly of the valve cover. Be sure to keep the idle around 2500 rpm for the first 15-20 min to keep oil pressure up and heat up the oil. If you have a leak it is ok to shut down the motor, just dont let it idle during the first heat cycle.

IIRC STP also makes a good assembly prep. That stuff sticks to anything and is very viscous
