ever heard of a 3"tbe that was quiet

a couple of weeks ago, some friends and i were installing a clutch and other goodies on my friends 03. including the greedy sb2 exsaust, turdonetixs test pipe, and injen down pipe, with no silincer or resonators. this thing is about as quiet as the oem.

my question is wtf, isnt it supposed to be louder? other mods on the car are, 10.5 manifold, megan headers, uic piping, ebc, and ingen intake. i mean it sounds really nice and doesnt effect the proformane. but mine was louder with just the tbe and test pipe and thats it. so??????

thanks Charlie

P.S. we checked all the bolt on everything and the gaskets and its all sealed.

My Injen is a little louder than stock at idle but not much. It's not really that loud at full-throttle either.

Yeah, I've been in a car with a 3" TBE with a Greddy Evo2 and it was insanely quiet around town, but when you get on it, it has a real nice tone to it. Needless to say, I ended up ordering the catback.

The Greddy has a resonator doesn't it. Regardless the Greddy SP2 is one of the quietest exhuasts out there because the use a REAL muffler cannister that subdues a lot of the pressure and sound. The choice of catback will greatly affect the way the car sounds.

I just recently installed the Megan Catback + Megan resonated testpipie + Ichiba Downpipe all of which are 3" and this catback IMO is extremely quiet, until of course you get on WOT but even then it's still quiet. I've owned an STI and turbo'd RSX-S and I can say that this exhaust on my EVO is def quieter then either. This is without the silencer too, with the silencer it's really close to stock.

How long have you had your Megan catback? Have you had any issues with the tip coming loose? Mine has come loose and it EXTREMELY annoying. I need to get the damn thing welded on instead of the rivets that it came with.
