pulled over for stock exhaust ?

I got my first oil change this morning at 9am and on my way home from the mitsu dealer i see a cop pretty close to my house so i roll all my windows down. I was obeying all traffic laws and my car in completely stock but he pulls out like a maniac anyway(this guy puolled out like i had just hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk and kept going....totally dramatic). So he drives behind me for about 500 yards and i just pull over, he had not turned the lights on yet (he was prob still running the plates)but i always pull over before they turn their lights on anyway just so i can tell them i just wanted to save them the hassel of having to turn on the lights . I love doing this because sometimes it makes them feel like such a-holes. ESPECIALLY when i did NOTHING wrong. So i pulled over and he just kept going. I couldnt believe it. So i gave it a few seconds then continued on my way. i get 500 yards down the road and guess who i see coming the oppisite direction. Yeah mr scary policeman. by the time i looked in the rearview mirror his car was already horizontal between both lanes making a U-turn(i thought to myself "relax champ i know these cars are quick but i wont run"). He comes up behind me at about 175 MPH and turns on his lights. I pull over and knew this guy was gonna have a ball with me. So he asks whi i think i was pulled over , and usually if I know the reason i will say it, but I honestly had NO IDEA what was going on. So naturally i said "i honestly have no idea". The cop goes... "your exhaust is amplified". i say "amplified?!" he says "yes its VERY VERY loud" (keep in mind my car is BONE stock). I then told him the car is totally stock and i just got it a month ago. He then says "i really dont care if its faactory or not" (now i had remembered reading and responding to a thread like this about 3 days ago and i never thought this would happen to me because its so rediculous). And someone on that thread made a very valid point by saying , its obviously OK if the car is legal in the state and passed emissions, So i said all that him while handing all my info to him(i also handed a PBA card from a friend of mine). He then says "be right back" and hands alll my info back to me. He comes back and asks me to roll up my window , I do as he asks and he put one of those stupid tint machines on it(i let out a small laugh). At this point i knew the cop was just f-ing with me now that he had already handed all my info back to me w/o taking it to his car. Finally he says that a "PBA card wont always be able to save you"(BS .. he coulda still given me a ticket but he knew how wrong he was) and to "fix my exhaust" and he left.

Now these are the types of cops i seriously feel bad for and dislike. This poor guy was probably picked on all his life for whatever reasons. This is his way at getting back at society for all those years. I must have fit the profile of one select kid he remembers used to give him a hard time. I got lucky having the card and making him feel so wrong by saying my exhaust was stock and that its clearly been verified by the state to be OK(but i of course said it as nicely as i could).

Same ish happens to me all the time. They pull U-turns in the middle of the road, tailgate me, and even shine their searchlight in my rearview mirror to blind me just so they can try to make me nervous and make a mistake. It's like it's illegal to drive an Evo...

When they do pull me over, they ask stupid questions like "is this your dad's car? how long have you known the girl sitting in your passenger seat? what do you do for a living?"

Effing pigs...

Sometimes you get the good cop, sometimes the bad. And not all cops are car experts, so sometimes they just write the ticket and then let you figure it all out in court. It isn't always fair, but we drive high-profile vehicles so it comes with the territory.

Dunno if it would be worth it, but do you think it would be advantageous to ask for his badge number and file a complaint?
I mean seriously, the car is STOCK and its obviously legal. That is harrassment.
The reason I said advantageous is maybe if we start reporting the officers that overstep their bounds, it might decrease this sort of thing happening. ( although im not naive enough to think it will ever stop completely).
He was out of line and deserves to be reported.

Its clearly harassment when a cop pulled me over for doing nothing wrong then picks and points to stuff on my car after he was proven wrong about the reason he pulled me over. But its a lose/lose situation If i were to file against him. He would definately be out on the hunt for me next time(not to mention he will tell his buddies) and give me tickets for EVERY little thing he could think of. He was a miserable loser and ill just have to live with it. I fight every ticket i get anyway though. Win some Lose some.

You live in the Berkshires now? My parents live in Great Barrington and luckily I haven't had any issues while driving their to visit them.

I dont get it, is it like a get out of jail free card? If I donate to the local police and get on of those cards, can i use it in cases like this to help me out?

PBA cards won't help you in Long Island, they will only work in the city . If anything, it pisses off the county police.
