WEll today at 8:15 PM Aug 04 =[ i pulled out of a gas station after feeding my Baby, n then i made a right turn into the street n soon enough a COP was right behind me, i didnt kno until 10 seconds later when my friend told me, But then it was too late the Cop heard The Sweet Sound of my HKS BOV =[, so then i got a Ciatation for haveing a BOV n now i have to go make an oppointment with a Referree n smog my car n go to court. My friend told me to take off my HKS BOV n put in the Stock one, when i go to the Referee, n just leave the HKS BOV in the trunk soo when they ask "i thought you had an AFter market BOV?" i would say yeh i took it off already n its in my trunk. SHould i DO tat <-----? . can u guys Give me tips on what i should do, n an estimate on how much the FINE would be?


ALSO- CAn some out tell me how i can Reroute my BOV so it canblow into my intake for my HP???

 

where exactly did you get stopped. what city so I could avoid that area. sorry about the BOV causing you all this problems. I say put the stock one back and get it passed and put it back after the test.

 

why would you tell them it's in your trunk? lol...take it off and sell it

unless you recircluate the hks bov chances are you are not helping performance anyway

the ix comes with a great diverter valve already

 

it's a 10 dollar fine, just tell him that the officer didn't know what he was looking for and that you had in fact the stock one. normally they don't even look and just sign off the ticket.

ALSO ARE u sure the FIne is 10$? n i kinda think the trick abt saying the cop didnt kno what he was looking for and tat i had a stock one on, bcuz i think the judge would say if i had the stock one on then i wouldnt have been pulled over any ways :/ , wells does any one kno how to re-route the bov to blow into my intake ? bcuz i heard it would make my BOV sound more silent and get more HP bcuz im blowing more air into my intake, - According to wat my friend says , its reasonable

 

If you are running the stock UICP, I'm assuming you have the hole in it plugged up where the factory DV was recirculated, right? You would need the recirculation kit for the HKS and just recirculate it back in.

BTW you aren't going to gain or lose any Hp from a BOV, unless your stock one is leaking and not holding enough boost or something..

 

why would you put a piece of junk bov like that one when the IX comes with one of the best Dv(bov,s) made for evo,s

That sucks man. I have gotten all kinds of tickets but this is the first time I hear that you can get a ticket for a BOV.

The HKS recirculating kit can be picked up from just about any vendor.
Also get hooked on phonics.

LOL , no its a specific recirculating kit for the HKS BOV. I would however heed the advice of the other posters changing back to the stock diverter valve. I purposely got the stock evo 9 valve for my evo 8.
