that really sucks but I'm a bit confused by your post.

You said it was stolen, but they only took the ECU.

So was the car actually stolen (broken into, and driven away) or just broken into, and the ECU removed?

Cause the best clutch lock and sering wheel blocker won't help someone taking stuff out/off your car.

I have a Viper 791XV alarm on my 03 evo. I would say it's one of the best alarms on the market. It has more features than you can imagine. It's top of the line Viper alarm. I bought it at my local best buy for ~$500 installed. Hope that helps.

all you need is a small hidden switch on the power wire to the ECU and just flip the switch off when you want. That way if they bring there own ecu they still will not have power to it.

They broke in, drove or pushed it to the other neigberhood, and they just took the ECU. I found it because it happened to my friends the same way. They found it down the street completely stripped or with something missing. I walked to neigbering developments and found it.

Vipers are the best. I would get one ASAP, that way when you're at home and leave the keys by the bed, you can hear your remote buzzed like alarm clock.

Would the ECU be valuable maybe in some other country. Maybe it's not worth much to us but maybe someone modding an EVO in another country might be interested in buying them...

That's kinda' weird, just the ecu, and nothing else? At least they didn't trash your ride.
