losing power between 3.5 and 4k!?!?

hey guys just wanted to see if any of you guys could shed some light on this. im not sure if it is a possible boost leak of maybe even my clutch just going bad...

but when i accelerate between the rpm range of 3.5k and 4k i lose power but the boost doesnt drop. then once i pass 4k i feel the power come back. i think it's just my clutch going bad. but what you guys think? it happens in all gears.

thanks

Could be the clutch or your engine is knocking. That RPM range is when you reach peak torque which is usually were most of the knock occurs. Are you tuned?

Sounds like your clutch is slipping.

Actually the higher the gear you are in the more it will do it due to more load. I bet you it will not do it in 1st gear. Mine started in 4th gear then after driving it for a while it starts happening in 3rd gear as well then finally in 2nd gear. Traded it before it got even worse.

it's your clutch...you usually feel the slipping when you hit boost

When your clutch is slipping your RPM's will increase, and then drop when the clutch catches. If your clutch is the problem, you will probably notice your RPM's act like:

3000-3500-4000-4500-4000-4500-5000-5500....

If the RPM's drop with the power, your engine is pulling timing, you could be hitting fuel cut, etc.

How many miles on the Evo, what are you using for a boost gauge, etc?

i have 16k now on the clock, and im using a defi d boost gauge..it's pretty accurate to my knowledge from when i got it tuned. but from what your describing really does sound like my clutch, and from what i read..this is about the time my clutch starts crapping out on me.
