Bang for buck: Dynoflash standard flash VS Cat-back exhaust

I don't have much cash to spend and I want to keep my 03 Evo somewhat under warranty for the time being... what is more worth it getting the $200 flash from Dynoflash or getting a custom cat-back exhaust? Pros and cons for both? Thanks!

well I will tell you this much you will get more out of the flash. the cat back is just that a cat back a full turbo back is the best thing to get and that is alot more money than you want to spend well that is what it sounds like to me. Get flash you will be happy with it.

Warranty issues depend on the dealership. If the service manager is a cool guy, you won't have problems w/ TBE. But, in general, the tespipe is not warranty-friendly. If you know how to swap the testpipe w/ the cat, you can just put the cat back on the car when you go in for dealer services.

As for the flash, there is an extremely slim chance of being detected. I personally haven't heard anyone having problems with the warranty due to the flash.

Flash by itself is the best bang for the buck.....BUT combined with a TBE look out!

So if the car is completely stock, itll still show significant gains? I mean, I read the dynoflash website and its promising close to 20whp gains from a mail in flash....but even on a stock set up?

You'll feel a difference even when completely stock with just a flash.

You won't see much gains from a cat-back alone. Ecu flash will give you most hp gains for the dollar.

wow...ive always had the wrong thinken then. Ive always just assumed theres no point to flash until I start modifying, but I dont plan on modifying till my 50k warranty is over. Now flash is definitely something to be thinking about in the near future

Yeah a flash will yield the best results even on a stock Evo, you won't be dissapointed. No flash's are NOT detectable by Mistubishi on 2003 Evo's only 2005 and newer. Also no a test pipe will not void your warrenty, though it will turn your CEL on.
