European Audi/VW's have launch control. My MkV GTi DSG does not. Since it's FWD, I can get a pretty good launch with the handbrake though.

Most high performance DSG tranny's have some kind of launch control. Ferrari does for example, but not in the US, which really sucks. Hopefully the Evo X will have a LC feature.

it will have to have lc in order to sell the car. Americans value 0-60 times more than anyone else, so without lc the evo will be much slower than 4.4-4.6 0-60.

doesn't seem like "power braking" is good for the car

Anything that involves fun with the car is pretty much bad for the car

Well if its like the one in M3s ( I had one)... you hold the right shift peddle on the steering wheel engaging first...press on gas all the way...rivs will build up to a certain RPM depending on the car (3000rpm for the M3)...then you let go of the shift peddle....the car does the job for you basicaly.

I just remembered how precise my launches were with it...it mad me look like a hero on track...LOL...when in fact it was the electronic nannies doin the job

Oh...one more thing...if you want a Burnout...you hold both peddles instead.
