did mitsubishi purposely put a cheap hoseclamp on the upper IC hose/TB for safety reasons......this damn thing has popped off the 2nd time!

1st time it popped off and fell onto the road........had to drive 20mph on I35 home

this 2nd time, luckily it popped off and stayed on the hose, and was lucky i was heading to a toyota dealership

 

i dont know if you have home depot near you....... but they sell 'ideal' hose clamps for $1.19 here in cali, and they work very very well. almost as good as t-bolt clamps............

 

Get some T-bolt clamps, it's a good investment.

What are you tightening the clamp with?

 

Happened to me too with the same clamp on I35. Scared the crap out of me, didn't know what was going on. I went to Napa and bought T-bolts for all the pipes and haven't had a problem since.
