If you have no temp reading at all that sounds sensor related. Did you reconnect the plug to the sensor? Is it damaged? Even if the thermostat is stuck open you would get a reading after a while and MAYBE overheating issues since the coolant isnt being "cooled" effieciently.

If you must test, you can do a static test by heating the thermostat to see if it opens at the particular temp.

If I remember correctly, you can use a heat gun or "boil" the thermostat until it opens then cool it to close.

Here is a pic of the Ralliart one.

Here is a pic of the stock one, If you look at ^ the bottom of the Ralliart one it blocks the passage for the Heater core.

Hope this helps other people later down the road.
But i will put it back in the spring time again.

The fans blow just not warm air at all. The flap opens up also.......
Do you think if the ECU is not in the metel clip that it might bump something from it opening up.......

There are only three possibilities: air in the engine, bad thermostat or cable off the underdash heater box. I've used the procedure given in the service manual for refilling the cooling system and it works. Second, boil the thermostat to determine the temperature at which it is opening. If it starts to open before 176 F, then you will get little heat. Make sure you are not installing it upside down. Finally, check that the cables are moving the controls on the heater doors.

Another thought....the ECU controls some of the gauge cluster in these cars. Maybe something went bad in the new tune that controls the input from the temp sensor output for the coolant gauge?
