Noisy Trannamition

I got my ACT single 6 puck clutch installed about 3000 miles ago. I usually drive it easy and I did break it in properly. But just a couple days ago things got weard.

I have the usual whining from the transmition, but if I shift hard from 1st to 2nd gear or launch it, the whining noise will change tone to were it almost shoulds like one of my brake dust shealds is touching the rotor when you go it to a corner. This noise change will usually happed at about 4K RPM It seems like it is coming from the front trans axle or driveshaft, but Im not sure.

Has anyone have or had this noise with an aftermarket clutch? The car still shifts and drives good and if I ease it in to full boost everything is fine. No leaks or other noises while regular driving.

I just did the ACT street clutch and flywheel about 1 month ago and noticed that whining noise also. It kept on getting louder and louder and now I have whining noise and a metal on metal grinding type sound. I took it to Road Race Engineering here in So. Cal. and they told me that my transfer case was out. In my case, I was told it could have been that they put the wrong fluids in the TC or that the clutch job was just lousy, so you might want to check into yours now before it gets worse!

That is the biggest butcher job of the spelling transmission. You might want to try flushing your tranny/tcase fluid like they said above.

Hey guys, give the guy a break, not everyone speaks english as their forst language, as long as you understood what he was trying to say does it matter?

I would change you fluids and see if it helps, if not you could have popped the TOB retainer clip off or damaged it and it's not fully disengaging and your eating up you synchros
