Don't want to alarm anyone,,, and it could be non-relavant to the new EVO 8 but, maybe??!!

O2 Sensor recall on Italian Evo site

 

Link doesn't work for me but the first EVO I bought (long story found here ) had at least a DOA front O2

 

Given that Italy doesn't have any Evo VIII's running around, yet, I wouldn't be concerned. What should be more disconcerting is Mitsubishi's proven past history (3 decades) of hiding from Japanese regulators boxloads of customer reports of auto defects, because of "a mistaken impression by company employees that recalls would be humiliating."

But that's old (2000) news.

 

Pretty old news. It refers to Evo 4 to Evo 7. My Evo 7 had this defect and it did cause problems. Fortunately my dealer had the part and it was fixed in a day. I doubt the Evo 8 has this problem though.

 

I had visdited this Italian site in the past, and hadn't seen the post so I thought it was new..

Yeah, I guess I'm hoping that Mitsu finds a dash ratlle or windshield fitment issue that demands a recall cuz my dash ratttle is ANNOYING as hell...

 

Effective build dates for this recall are from 1998 - April 2002. All prior to the EVO VIII or US Lancer Evolution.
