My evo is coming in about a week or so

My dealer couldnt tell me yesterday if i could ride with the service guy while he preps the car.

Is there anybody that knows this answer?

I told the dealer to park it and not touch it after it gets off the truck.

I want to be there when they prep it just in case he gets any ideas.

This might be under the jurisdiction of your individual state, but as far as I know, the car is not officially your property until you accept delivery of it. You could just tell the dealer that you want to be there from the minute it hits the ground and if there are any miles on it when you arrive, you will refuse delivery.

 

It could be insurance related also.. If their PDI'ing the car, there may be stipulations on passengers during a prep.. If the car has a major problem (part of the prep and dealer inspection) would you want a customer in that car if you were the dealer anyway? Besides the safety issues..

 

I told my dealer the same thing - I want to see it pull off the truck..

 

I did all the paperwork for the purchase on my EVO.. I saw it come off the truck, and driven into the garage.. I sat on a chair next to the tech while he did everything to the car, from taking all the white tape off it, to washing it... It had .3 miles on it... The deler and I both drove to the gas station around the block, (he had the odasity to ask if he could drive it!) we gassed up, I dropped his fat *** off, and away I went without looking back!!

 

i doubt you can demand this, but maybe they will allow it...
