Rally Prep?
Rally Prep?
Anyone know of any site or forums that might have some info or tips on rally prepping an EVO X? Yes, I searched here and I've also Googled "rally prep" "evo x" and got nothing really. Thanks.
A) Nice avatar. Wearing a deadmau5 shirt as an undershirt at work lol.
B) Rally prepping for what? Price will vary considerably. IOWA99 would be a good source for info. A full on wrc rally build though is gonna cost you several times what the car cost...

Well, I've currently got the car set up for road track days (Greddy coilovers, 285 Toyo 888's on Volks, bolt-ons, E85). I'm bored with asphalt and wanna go play in the dirt. My old truck is great for flinging around, but I'd like to try to participate in some kind of timed events. Preferably something that won't require a cage or co-driver... for now.

that is no rally sport.
Even hill climbs require cage, but there is no co-driver required. For you the hillclimbs would be a lot cheaper solution to start something cheap in that direction( and you can keep your coils and tires wheels etc). GO for open AWD hill climb class. That is a cheapest solution to run. Usually they don't even require restrictor plate to run . Only thing you need is a cage and the fire extinguisher. It is a lots of fun , cheap entry fee ( compere to rally) best introduction to run not on track, and having some excitement. I personally think track is so boring, i got bored after 4 laps, so i know what you feel.
Look up hill climbs around you and have fun! Do not install bolt on cage. Depends on your budget the cage , but if you listen to me, you get a Custom Cage from UK and you will be set for life. Also with that cage you will be ending up cheaper better and safer. Cost about $4500 with proper install. I happen to be even know the shop who does the best

good luck with your plans :
