The big thing you have going for you is that they had the keys to the car and could have easily avoided damage. It's not like the car was abandoned and needed to be moved due to it's location. The could have driven the car to the impound and avoided damage.

Some insurance companies do not cover tranny damage apparently. My Dad had to pay out of pocket for a damaged transmission recently since it was not covered.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like and I can try to get some more info. Like I said, my Dad had been on the other end of similar situations. Even decent, reputable towing companies have issues sometimes.

Good man, help him get those bastards!!!

you should ask them to pay for your car, both cops and towing compary
The cop have the right to impound your car
but no right to broke or damage your car
i think you can find a lawer to shoot them.
during the time to fix the evo , you can claim for car rental too
good luck and keep update please
It sounds like it will happen on all of us

Update to on what's going on about my impounded situation.

I dropped it off at the dealer this mourning and they told me that the bolt to check the differential fluid was hand tight. (Keep in mind that my car has 22K miles on it and I wasn't planning to change the tranny fluid until 30K). The mechanics at Mitsu said that hey used his hands and unscrew it like nothing.

At the moment, I'm hoping that it's the only problem and nothing further. If not then I'll be PMing a lot of you guys for more advice.

I doubt that would cause the error from the ACD computer. Maybe it does and you'll be lucky though. =)

hmm sorry about your car but when you speed you wrisk being busted and having to deal with more **** than speeding is worth. Driving on an expired license!? when you are in a "cool" car the cops have no symapthy on that one.

go to your dealer, have them inspect the car...like someone said b4 explain to them that your car was towed for several miles on 2 wheels...
make sure you have the officers name and as much info on the tow truck company...get a lawyer...they know how to dig into files of tow companies and stuff...company will settle issue b4 going to court...good luck with it...

...next time, speak up...get loud...30k investment and you let a cop and greasy *** tow drive get the best of your baby. Never let it happen again

MAKE SURE YOU HOLD SOMEONE ACCOUNTABLE. TOW TRUCK COMPANY( you did tell them in the begining that you needed a flatbed.) I would take it to the dealer and have them inspect and estimate the damages$$$

Get a lawyer. a) They left you stranded. b) They damaged your vehicle while clearly being in a position to avoid damage. c) They trashed your vihicle while in storage. I say stop talking and take action.

I've actually watched my transfer case explode as it was being towed on two wheels by the tow company. They paid my Mitsu dealership $6200 for the transfer case, parts, and labor. In addition, I had them pay for a rental car which totaled another $800.

It took a lot of work to get the money out of them. I worked through my AAA agent to get them to cough up the money. They were very reluctant to say the least.

Take everyones advice above and get your vehicle fixed for free if it is damaged. You should not incur any out of pocket expenses.

Update, update

Thanks guys for gving me the advice, I mean if theres anything wrong and I have to pay out of my pocket then ofcourse I will. I sincerely thank you guys for caring about my situation. Thank you very much.

Well here's the latest updat. I got a call from the dealer saying that they have no idea what's wrong. At first they said that the Tranny oil plug was hand tighten and now they said that they refilled the tranny fluid and drove the car then rechecked it. They said that it was empty again but they don't know where it went. They refilled and drove it around the block again and it went low again. They found no leak or anything so they have no idea what's wrong with it or where the fluid could had went too. They're going to keep my car for another day and get back to me.

On top of this I asked them if this would be on warranty and they said that the undertray of the car looks perfectly fine. No sing of any abuse or damage what so ever so they say that there's no reason why it should be warrantied. I'm just crossing my fingers right now, but worse comes to worst, I'll have to PM some of you guys to help out with how to start the lawsuit.

Thanks guys.
