Habit of parking backwards..

How many of you guys have this habit of always parking your evo backwards say at

your friends apartments or some house or mall or something. I dont know why but

ever since i had my evo i have this habit that i just have to park that way and not

only that but i have to have the exact amount of space between each car so i have

less risk gettin hit by some idiot that just swings there door open. (already have 2

dings from this BS)

Not sure about the backwards thing, but I always park out in BFE to avoid dings.

I used to park backwards, then I started getting citations from the parking lot at the hospital where my mom worked so I stopped.

I do it occasionally at a friends house or something, just not at public parking places.

I'd do it because I'm always afraid of hitting the front lip onto the edge of the parking curb/bumper. In reverse I can back up until the tires touch.

I've always backed in since i've been driving...and i always park my Evo far away to avoid contact with doors/shopping carts/kids

but some how when i come out to my car someone in a huge truck/suv has the same idea and parks next to me

not with the evo, however I do with any other small car.

With the evo's turning radius I can hardly park going straight forward without throwing it in reverse and straigtening out the car.

is it one of those places where all cars have to be parked in the same direction so the meter maids can see if you have a parking permit?

I always park my car backward. It just seems easier to park and safer when going out.

85% of the time I will back it in. Usually if I'm in a big lot, I'll park in the middle of no where and take up a few spaces to avoid those horrendous door dings.

lol! I am glad to know it is not just me! I back in almost every time I park. As far as the door dings, I live in downtown Seattle. Most parking is indoor. I always try to back with my passenger side as close to a pole as i can get (no door dings yet! )
