It's kind of hard to compare them. For starters...Ecutek is a tool used to reflash the car...not an actual tuner.

It all depends on your location for starters. There are mail-in places like Dynoflash and Works (to some extent). Otherwise...if you are in the market for a custom tuning...then you either have to drive a great distance or find one locally.

So... any word on which batches of IXs have the lower boost? I got mine at the end of February.

Okay, that makes sense then.

version 14/15 ECU's seem to produce less power than version 13. Upload a 13 map (earlier ix's), supposedly it holds better/higher boost.

Where do you get a 13 map to upload?

Take some good advice call a good shop ( like AMS ) that does flashs and listen to them.

I was talking about this subject with Eric at AMS the other day and seems like IX's are making some nice gains with just a flash and if you add a few light mods to the mix and they make some nice hp numbers.

PS: not trying to be a sales person for AMS just been through all this with my old STI. Trust me.

i got my IX in April of this year...

when i finally got my boost guage installed i was spiking around 19.5 and tapering to around 16-17 psi. granted the boost guage's not necessarily 100% accurate but i dont think it'll be that far off.

being in socal i'm takin my car to tuning technology for a tune after i get my TBE have heard nothing but good stuff about them...
