Cold Weather Affects Performance

It got down to 47F degrees here in NJ today. This is The Coldest i have driven My Evo in. And I love it, The Car gained at leat 10 hp. In my MR2 i used to nowtice a slight defference but with the Evo it is Very Dramatic. Usualy its cold in the Morning but I don't rip it in the morning so i haven't noticed. But WOW, The boost builds faster too. I am just soo suprised in the Difference in performance.

No, the lows right now at about 67 or so. During the winter it can get below freezing, but it's pretty rare, and always warms up quickly.

seriously - the difference is almost day and night. Be careful on stock tires though - make sure they're warm before you fly around any tight turns. You'll see the tail end a lot sooner then you hoped!

Humm Using the Mirror to See what your about to hit, I had that happen A few times in my MR2. But I drive it until the Oil is nice an toasty, about 70 Degrees C. So By that time the tires are ok warm not ready for a race warm but warm enough.

My car hates the cold weather until the engine is warm.

Yesterday it was about 40 degrees out, and i hit 25 psi in 3rd gear . I guess its time to turn the mbc down a bit. Didnt get any knock tho!

you should plan on putting on winter performance tires if you want to run the car properly in temperatures of 45 degrees and below. I'm gonna wait till temperatures start getting consistantly low and then they will go on. They are so much fun in the snow.
